THE STORY LIVES ON IN US

Acts 2:29-33 (KJV)
“29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in h...
ell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.”
What a combination. Authentically an Hebrew pointing out the words of David as being prophetic since his bones were still in the grave and Jesus’ is not. Many were an eye witnesses to David’s grave and an eye witness of Christ resurrection.
It is not a wonder why New Testament believers ascribe to the fact salvation begins when we believe in our hearts the Father raised Jesus from the dead. Confessing with our mouth and believing in our hearts. If I had been standing there that day Peter delivered this sermon, I easily could have been among the 3000 souls.
This story is not farfetched for me, I can believe it and I do believe it. Pentecost after His resurrection marking the harvest blessing; the Holy Spirit sanctions those who believed that day by His presence exploding in them. The comforter came as He said He would. Now they have another comforter, another counselor, and another teacher.
He has not stopped even to this day form filling us, illuminating us, leading us, instructing us, and teaching us Jesus. He came to do exactly what the Master said He would come to do. Do I believe? Yes, I believe and I am a recipient of such wonder and greatness. The story still lives in me, does it live in you?
