COVENANT LOYALTY

Lamentations 3:21-23 (KJV)
"21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
Our hope is embedded in His faithfulness. In the Hebrew “unfailing love” is used meaning “loyal love” or “covenant loyalty.” This term is used in the Old Covenant consistently to describe God’s position concerning His choice to love and His commitment to that choice.
If we can capture this truth, or should I say, if this truth should capture us, our acceptance would be realized. If we only knew how much the Father loves us, we would not struggle with the fears keeping us at a distance when shame comes to camp in our minds.
Sometimes it is much easier to live in denial than to face what needs facing; fear in relationship is the darkness we create with denial. Transparency is being unafraid and is anchored in acceptance and love. His unfailing love gives us reason to live unafraid and to live transparently, and this empowers us to adjust what needs adjusting.
