THE NEW CREATURE

Galatians 6:14-15 (KJV)
“14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”
In the mix of culture the world and its order can never give us what Jesus has given us in His cross. The new creature is after the order of heaven and cannot be tied to this world. The new creature is not born after the will of man but after the will of God.
Therefore, worldly culture cannot lay claim to the new creature in Christ Jesus and the new creature cannot lay claim to worldly culture. Our arts are not the same, our economy is not the same, and our consumption is not the same. The New Jerusalem is where we will settle; until then, we will be strangers and foreigners. This world will never make sense of us.
