The cross is the truest common ground in Christianity, it is the one place we all can stand and be embraced at the same level by its mercy and grace, it is in its fiery baptism we are melted into one. It becomes a spiritual infusion with the love of God as it is in and through the cross we have received that love.
Enmity began in the garden with a tree and that enmity has ended with the tree at Calvary. Even though the cross is just a piece of wood, in and of itself the event upon that cross divides history and has become the pivotal point of our faith and can be traced to all believers as being the emblem of the greatest sacrifice known to us all. It is there our savior gave all and it is from there if we have anything worthy to give; we become able and positioned to give.
