Isaiah 50:11 “Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.”
Unfortunately, anything burning outside God’s presence is a fire kindled by our own passion and will. The only way we can escape the sorrow mentioned in this scripture is to still ourselves away into the presence of God until the fire in God becomes the fire in us. God’s will, God’s heart is waiting to happen in us and through us. It is not until that which is burning in Him begins to burn in us that His will becomes our will.
There are times when our prayers are asking God for direction without considering first where He is or where He is going. If we put God where He belongs, it automatically puts us where we belong. This is deeply important to understanding prayer. One way or another, the fire burning in us will consume us; the question is, what exactly is consuming us? Is it our own lust and concupiscence, or, is it the fiery presence of God. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person becomes effectual when the fire is birthed out of the presence and heart of God.
This is really good.
