Matthew 11:12 (KJV)
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”
The violence here is the art of inward struggle; it is war. This is where we learn to side against ourselves for the sake of truth. The Kingdom of God takes rule over the kingdom of self. It is so easy to see things as we are opposed to how things really are. God’s kingdom is not of this world. Nonetheless, we cannot go anywhere. Jesus prayed the Father would not take us out of here; but rather also, He prayed the Father would keep us from the evil of this world as His Kingdom takes our heart. His will is for His Kingdom to become our culture of reason and understanding.
