Matthew 4:18-19 (KJV)
“18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
I have been hearing the word “obligate” in my thoughts for a long time now. Here is what it means: As a verb obligate means to compel, constrain, or oblige morally or legally; as an adjective it is to be compelled, bound, or restricted.
Simple as this, Jesus obligated them boys. His call for them to follow Him obligated them and Himself. They were obligated to follow and Jesus was obligated to teach them to catch men. The end result, they did catch men.
