JESUS / THE BREAD OF HIS PRESENCE

JESUS / THE BREAD OF HIS PRESENCE

John 6:61-63 (KJV)

“…he said unto them, Doth this offend you?  What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

Consuming the bread from heaven daily is the portal by which His Kingdom takes residence in us.  Cannibalism is not His request; it is not the contention between us and heaven.  It is our human inability to open our hearts to that which is spirit.  To think beyond this veil is offensive to our flesh.  When He bowed His head and gave up the Ghost is when the veil in the temple ripped from top to bottom.

Biblical history teaches us the veil hang in the temple eighteen inches thick. Now that is some sure enough thick fabric. It would have taken two teams of oxen pulling in opposite directions to rip such thickness.

How many teams of oxen would it take to pull the flesh from us that we would have access into the Father’s presence?  According to Jesus it is simply in our thoughts, it is how real His words become to us.  His words are spirit and they are life.

It is much deeper than “squinting our eyes” as to force our thoughts into another realm; it is when our thoughts become convinced it is real, authentic, and undeniably true.  It is when our character becomes transformed in submission to the bread being consumed.

The immediacy of John the revelator breathing heavens oxygen came from the years of offending his flesh; his spirit man won out over his flesh.  The fastest movement in the spirit is stillness and the loudest sound is silence, better said, it is dead flesh.

In this case, ascending into heaven has nothing to do with changing our location, it is simply believing because it has become our nature to believe.
